This June I had the opportunity to spend about two weeks touring around one of the most breathtaking areas of North America. I started in Portland and made my way north to Seattle and finally Vancouver.
This was my first time visiting Portland and I was really excited to explore the area. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more waterfalls in one place! It was so lovely, so ethereal. I spent most of my time hiking and enjoying nature but I did get to explore the city itself as well. I fell in love with the gritty vibe of Portland, it was different than I was expecting.
It seemed every morning and evening would be foggy, without fail. It made it hard to get out of bed, but also made for some of the most jaw-dropping sunsets I’ve ever seen, like this one!

I did a lot of thinking on this leg of my trip. I spent most of my time in Portland with some amazing, inspiring women and it really helped me to reflect on my life, achievements and goals. The picture below is from one of my favorite spots we visited. I think we spent at least 45 minutes there, mostly not talking at all. Just taking it in, sitting and thinking.
After a brief visit to Seattle, we kept driving north to Vancouver. Unlike Portland, I’d been to Vancouver a few times before. But there’s always more to explore and it never ceases to amaze me how breathtaking Vancouver is. It’s pretty different from Portland, so shiny and clean. It reminds me of Sim City almost.
I have to thank my two hosts during this trip, the amazing Krista Berlincourt and Justin Vaillancourt. They’re the best!
